Transdisciplinary Design

Rachel Murray

Rachel M. Murray is a UX designer and second year candidate in the MFA in Transdisciplinary Design program at Parsons School of Design. A graduate of the University of Toronto in Ethics, Society and Law (minors in Humanities and Psychoanalytic Thought and philosophy), Rachel focuses on understanding people, contexts, and cultures to end pain and create delightful, holistic, emotional and resilient products, services and experiences.  Current areas of investigation include multi-modal solutions to address stigma in mental illness, and exploring civic design, the commons, Burning Man and participatory civic communities as models of resilience.  Her goals include challenging the need for Genius Design and creating transitions away from the design of products to the design of future-forward ecosystems and experiences.
