Transdisciplinary Design

Kate McEntee

Kate is a seasoned consultant and communication strategist. She came to the practice of design from a background studying religious studies and international development and a successful career building storytelling strategy and courtroom presentations for judges and jurors.

While working as a trial consultant, she was offered the opportunity to work with Stanford’s d.school, learning human-centered design and building a practice to creatively empower her clients in litigation. This experience was the beginning of her pursuit for a deeper, more skillful design practice. The MFA in Transdisciplinary Design at Parsons School of Design allowed her to build and refine a project-based design practice, rooted in systems thinking and radical collaboration between different fields, approaches, and people.

She has held many leadership roles in her professional and academic careers, including founding multiple groups, management roles, running large production teams, and co-founding the first Transdisciplinary Design conference, VergeNYC.
