The Parsons Entrepreneurial Lab is announcing the date of its Fall Fellowship Program Workshop which will take place on Friday September 11, 2015 at 6pm to introduce alumni with brilliant entrepreneurial projects to its 12-month fellowship program. Book your calendars early on and stay tuned to reminders in your inbox about the Parsons alumni speakers and mentors who will advise you on this journey.

The Workshop

The Parsons ELab Fellowship Program Workshop will introduce the second annual cycle of the ELab’s fellowship program. Come learn about the 2015/2016 cycle’s expectations, application process and important deadlines for submitting your entrepreneurial projects and business ideas.

The workshop will include an introduction to the Elab, a Q & A session with past fellows, and a presentation of examples of application pitch decks required to apply.

Program Eligibility

Eligible applicants must be recent alumni who graduated in 2015, 2014, or 2013 from any of the graduate programs of the School of Design Strategies: MS in Strategic Design and Management, MA in Theories of Urban Practice, MFA in Transdisciplinary Design, and MS in Design and Urban Ecologies. Also eligible are recent alumni who graduated in 2015, 2014, or 2013 from the MFA in Design and Technology graduate program of the School of Art Media and Technology.

 

HOW?

Requirements for Submission by Sept 18 by sending an e-mail to ParsonsElab@gmail.com with the subject line “YOURNAME_ELab2015” and one single 15MB PDF that contains the following.

– Your current CV

– A short statement (a few paragraphs to one page) describing your work, the vision you have for your business practice and how the Parsons ELab can help you.

– Work Samples

– Pitch Deck (preferably with some proof of concept or prototypes)

-Outline and Draft Business plan

You are a passionate and dedicated Parsons SDS or AMT graduate student with unique entrepreneurial spirits, passionate, driven, ambitious, and working hard to pursue your ideas. You cannot wait to create innovative ventures in any creative realm be it design, technology, sustainability, fashion, or any other area you might be creating or disrupting at school and beyond. You live, eat, and breathe your vision. You fall and get right back up. You are eager to diversifying and strengthening your skill set and realizing the power of networking to grow your professions.

 

What is the Parsons Entrepreneurial Lab?

The ELab is an SDS initiative that aims to bridge the gap between academia and applied practices for select graduate students currently out of the four Parsons SDS programs and AMT’s DT program.  The ELab focuses on entrepreneurship, collaboration, innovation, partnership and mentorship within the university, the community and beyond. The ELab provides support to recent alumni by connecting them with networks of communities, spaces and experts to extend and support Parsons academic programs with applied practice methodology.

 

What We Have Done So Far

The ELab has supported ten graduates of 2014 who transitioned through the ELab mentorship program  into the NYC start-up community with the support and coaching necessary for launching their businesses.
