Internship Opportunity – Finance Assistant

We are currently looking for a finance assistant who can offer a fresh new perspective on our startup financial model and maybe even help us grow our financial intelligence.

This job is for the passionate, the curious, and the thinker.

 

The finance tasks for our startup are diverse and involve developing, maintaining and expanding our financial model. You will work handinhand with the cofounders on the following:

– Assisting with budgets, monthly accounting close activities, analysis and metrics of budget to actuals.

– Help with accounts receivable, payable and bank statement reconciliation.

– Assist with yearly financial forecasting.

– Assist with resource management and vendor invoicing.

– Assist with purchase orders, vouchers and payments.

– Spreadsheets analysis.

– Bookkeeping.

We are super flexible in terms of work hours and the duration of this partnership. We hope to find people that would like to become part of our Metamenu family and create their own responsibilities within.

We cannot pay you right now but we promise to create paid opportunities as soon as the business allows. See below for compensation details.

 

Qualifications:

– Any business/finance/economics/accounting major with advisor ambitions.

– Advanced writing skills are a must.

– Knowledge of Quickbooks is required.

– Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

– Understanding of Excel spreadsheets and pivot tables.

– Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize in a changing environment.

– Strong appetite for learning, critical thinking, and solving challenges.

– Have your own laptop.

– Have a passion for food and curiosity for the new.

– Up-to-date with current trends.

– Inquisitive in what NYC has to offer.

– Research savvy.

– Motivation, creativity, quirkiness are part of your nature.

 

More details:

– Desired Start Date: 09/01/2015

– Duration: 4-6 months. Open for extension.

– Approximate hours per week: minimum 20 hours/week. Work schedule flexible.

– Compensation: includes unlimited monthly metrocard + 1 meal/day.

 

We are looking for people who can potentially grow with us.

We like to spoil our employees and are willing to offer company equity for people who stay with us for at least 2 years.
