THE DIFFERENCE COLLECTIVE

July 1, 2020

Description:

The Difference Collective is a movement of courageous humans that engages in uncomfortable conversations as a way to address polarization and division, to achieve inclusiveness and connection, and to celebrate the sameness and the difference.

This project is closely connected to a journey of self-exploration and learning, thanks to the developmental approach of the Integrated Studio 2 course. It was not only based on the Strategic Design methodology, but also on theories, principles and practices drawn from transformative pedagogy, adaptive leadership, action science, learning organizations, and deliberately developmental organizations.

It all started when I realized that growing up in a privileged context in Colombia shielded me in so many ways. At the end, after much research and many pivots, it ended up being a project about the construction of identity and the dynamics around it, and how we should embrace and celebrate not only the sameness but also the difference that exist among all of us.
