CoEstate

Description:

Our challenge began when we asked ourselves if there is any truth to our inclinations that homeownership is less accessible to single millennial women than to their male counterparts. What we discovered was that while millennials are less likely to be homeowners than previous generations at the same age, the issue cut deeper than just along generational and gender lines. When it comes to access to homeownership and an eventual return on investment, women of color suffer most on both axes. The racial and gender disparities in homeownership demonstrate how WOC are restricted from accessing the resources necessary to become property owners and encounter systemic barriers that prevent them from building intergenerational wealth and enjoying the non-financial benefits made possible through homeownership.

Introducing CoEstate: An education and investment platform that aims to close the racial and gender gap in homeownership by first inviting women of color into the real estate process, and then providing them with easy, effective ways to apply that knowledge, invest, and reap the benefits.
