In this ‘$5 Challenge’ team sprint, groups of students were given only two hours to generate as much profit as possible while spending no more than $5 to do so.

Inspired by environmental activists in Taiwan, this team sought out to start a global hashtag challenge around the social issue and implications of cigarettes. They explored the streets of New York City and collected cigarette butts to raise awareness. This team decided to measure their ‘profit’ in terms of outreach and, in alignment with the group’s brand, they found the most value they could deliver was by spreading awareness as a ‘call to action’. In only 2 hours time, the team was successful in reaching just over 100 people and now challenge you to make a video about your city!
