This conference will focus on developing economic alternatives to both the neoliberal and “neo-illiberal” policies of our day, with an emphasis on democratic governance in the domestic and international realms. Presentations on the US, China, Latin America, Africa and international financial institutions will propose more sustainable and secure ways to connect democracy and economy, including through industrial policy, social protection, human rights enforcement and reforms in the international policy arena.
