ALIGN
Our project, Align, focuses on improving productivity tools for individuals with ADHD by addressing key executive function challenges—specifically, planning and prioritization. While many existing productivity platforms assume a linear, neurotypical workflow, users with ADHD often struggle with fragmented tools, overwhelming interfaces, and difficulty determining where to start or what to prioritize.
To better understand these challenges, we conducted surveys and interviews with neurodivergent professionals and analyzed how current tools like Microsoft CoPilot, Asana, and Google Calendar support (or fail to support) these users. Our research revealed that productivity tools often add to the cognitive load rather than reduce it—especially when users are expected to manage tasks manually or work within rigid systems.
As a solution, we propose Align: an AI-powered software platform that connects to users’ existing project management and calendar tools, and dynamically prioritizes tasks based on their current work mood and energy level. For example, when a user is feeling low-energy, the platform intelligently reorganizes their task list to suggest more manageable work for that day. Align aims to reduce decision fatigue, help users focus, and make productivity feel more intuitive and human-centered—especially for those who need it most.
