Weiss Lecture Series: “The New Story vs. The News Story”
November 3, 2015
When did journalism and entertainment converge? Why do sensationalist stories dominate our news feed? How do people consume news today and how well do they process and integrate the various points of view? Will editorial content ever manage to cut through all the viral stories, opinions, comments and hashtags?
We would love for you to join Design and Flow – D&F for an evening of conversation around the intersection of design and media at Parsons School of Design, as part of the Fall 2015 Stephen Weiss Lecture Series:
What is the New Story vs. the News Story?
Panel + Design Hackathon
Our panelists Tim Stock, Salah Zalatimo and Jay Rosen will be examining the evolution of the news landscape, the information flux and the current disconnect between legacy journalism and millennials. Seating is limited so reserve yours here – http://tinyurl.com/ot5ktka. Unclaimed seats will be redistributed at 6.00pm.
Our panel will be followed by a Design and Flow Hackathon: How can design add flow by re-imagining the news story?
The hackathon is open to individuals and multidisciplinary teams. Prizes for the winning teams.
