Strategic Design & Indigenous Ways of Being  Jan 14

Description: In cooperation with Victoria University, New Zealand’s Design Innovation program, this session introduced students to Māoritanga (New Zealand Māori knowledge, culture and Te Ao Māori, or Māori worldview). Case studies in which Māoritanga and Te Ao have been integrated into various business contexts in New Zealand were examined. Beyond the specific New Zealand context, and informed by case insights, the workshop component guided students through some practical exercises to facilitate understanding of how products, services and systems might be developed from a basis which considers aspects of indigenous ways of being. Supervised by Professor Aaron Fry.
