In this assignment, students were asked to create a map of a new economy according to them, based on a theme they studied. This timeline reflects their interpretation of the key dates, events and figures that led to this economy.

In her infographic, Kip – a first year MS SDM student – represents the evolution of communication in digital platform, illustrating the timeline of the digital dot-com period (1995) to present. This economic era, known as the sharing economy, is influenced by advanced technology and global digital communication, making information connectivity and access feasible. The map shows communication mediums and platforms, along with their impact level worldwide, and displays the numbers of internet and smartphone users with internet access.
