Who are you and what do you do?

My name is Limassol Zok and I am a design strategist with work experience in graphic design and management and deep interest in innovation methodologies. I practice mind over body exercising and find great joy with animals and nature.

Where are you originally from?

Beirut, Lebanon

What year did you graduate from the MS SDM program?

2016

What issues are you interested in working on?

I am currently working on creating a digital platform that aims to elevate pain points at the workplace. My vision is a world with 100% happiness at all offices and elevating stress involves complexities worth tackling.

What inspires you most and keeps you creative?

Empathy, meditating, and introspecting give me the time and space I need to re-energize. NYC is the most dynamic place I have resided in and its energy is insatiably inspiring.

Who would you love to be your mentor?

Esther Ahn for business innovation, Susan Cain for self motivation and Jerome Goh for his mental clarity at approaching design thinking problems.

How has the Ms SDM program challenged you to grow as a strategic designer?

In many ways. The Innovation & Leadership course in which we were empowered to flip the classroom and teach the course was a stepping stone in providing me with the tools and confidence needed to manage and lead creative processes and teams. The many inspiring books have widened my knowledge in the innovation field especially Business Model Generation by Alexander Osterwalder. Releasing the need to know the answer has also added play in my design approach which opens up the process to a flow of co-creative energy. Very powerful.

What book are you reading right now?

Conversations About The Future: A Tomorrow Project Anthology
An excellent read on futurism.

What was the best advice you ever received?

You are who you want to be.
