Washington, DC and NYC
What year did you graduate from the MS SDM program?
2015
What project/job/event/research are you currently working on? Please tell us a little about the impetus, content and expected impact of this work.
I am currently creating a sustainable online database of fashion resources in order to help push designers to use greener resources to produce their product.
In what ways did the work/research you did at Parsons prepare you for that transition and the work you’re doing now?
It prepared me immensely! I create much more sound proposals to partner with entities in business that challenge them and me to become more sustainable, ethical and innovative in our pursuits.
How has the MS-SDM program challenged you to grow as a Strategic Designer?
The exposure to the R&D of other industries that one receives from the program allows for an opening of the mind in such a way that to innovate becomes priority. Now I’m always looking to create innovative business models in the fashion space to help push the industry forward – especially in the manufacturing sphere.
If you were to give one piece of advice to current students, what would it be?
Take it all in! The learning is fundamental to strengthening right and left brain convergence.
