Martha Kenton serves as the Executive Director of Federal Homeless Policy at the NYC Department of Social Services. She began her career working in child welfare in Chicago before moving to New York City for graduate school in 2001. After completing her Masters, she joined the NYC Department of Homeless Services focusing on long staying adults in shelters. In 2011, Martha joined the Center for Urban Community Services as a consultant supporting the NYC Continuum of Care.

In 2016, she returned to NYC DHS continuing her work with the CoC as the Director of CoC Community Engagement. Later that year, she was appointed NYC CoC Co Chair while leading CoC as the Executive Director of Federal Homeless Policy at the newly created NYC Department of Social Services. Martha continues to serve as Executive Director overseeing all activities of the Collaborative Applicant in support of the NYC CoC. Martha has a Bachelor’s of Social Work, Master of Social Work from Columbia University and a Master of Urban Planning from New York University.
