The Spatial Contract: A New Politics of Provisions for an Urbanized Planet

Alex Schafran, a writer, urban planner, geographer, educator, researcher and activist, and Lecturer at the University of Leeds, UK. Schafran’s work focuses on issues of housing, racial segregation and the broader politics of urbanization. His publications include “The road to resegregation: Northern California and the failure of politics” (University of California Press, 2018) and “The spatial contract: A new politics of provision for an urbanized planet” (with Matthew Noah Smith and Stephen Hall, Manchester University Press 2020).
