Quilian Riano (pronounced: Killian) is an architectural and urban designer, researcher, writer, and educator. He is the Interim Dean of Pratt Institute’s School of Architecture, working across the school’s architecture, landscape, urban design, planning, and management programs. Quilian founded and leads [DSGN AGNC](http://dsgnagnc.com/), a design studio exploring new forms of political design, engagement processes, urbanism, landscapes and art. DSGN AGNC arose, in part, from a concern about the level of investment in PUBLIC goods and spaces. Their design asks how the design of public spaces — such as housing, plazas, parks, and institutions — can compliment robust democratic processes. Through his work at DSGN AGNC, Quillian works with teams of designers, artists and community stakeholders to create adaptable spaces that embrace change.

Quilian holds a Masters of Architecture (MArch) from the Harvard University’s Graduate School of Design (GSD) and a Bachelors of Design in Architecture (BDes) with Summa Cum Laude from the University of Florida’s School of Architecture.
