Emerging Asian Cities: Provocations and Practices

Parsons The New School for Design presents, “Emerging Asian Cities: Provocations and Practices,” a symposium starting at 1:30 Friday November 2nd, 2012. The symposium, which is free and open to thepublic, will take place on the campus of the The New School, in the Hirshorn Suite, Room 205, 2nd floor, 55 West 13th Street, in New York City.
Rethinking the design and experiences of emerging Asian cities through photography, fashion, graphic design, architecture, history, anthropology, and urbanism, this symposium features a series of thematic conversations between scholar/practitioners from Parsons and those contributing to a new book, The Emerging Asian City: Concomitant Urbanities and Urbanisms
The symposium is organized by Professor Aseem Inam, Director of the new Graduate Program in Urban Practice, and Professor Radhika Subramaniam, Director of the Sheila Johnson Design Center.
