Fransisco Miranda
MATUP Class of 2017–
Public Relations & Communications, Great Ink.
Francisco is currently working at Great Ink, specializing in public relations and communications in New York’s intricate real estate world. He is also the US representative of Talents & Co., a Paris based representation agency for Design, Architecture, Development and Urban Planning Firms. Additionally, Francisco, along with four other alumni from the MA in Theories of Urban Practice, is developing “The City Deep,” an informative and critical podcast focusing on urban issues in New York City.
Francisco worked as a lawyer and a marketing strategist in mining, intellectual property and real estate law in Lima, Peru before moving to New York in order to pursue the MA in Theories of Urban Practice. He enrolled at Parsons looking to refocus his career path into urbanism while at the same time looking for a complete overhaul into his understanding of how the world works. He moved to New York eager to challenge the notions that were instilled into him as part of his traditional legal education.
Francisco’s education at Parsons, which focused on a collaborative and critical approach to the urban, drove him to refocus his practice on social issues within the urban which in turn have transformed his view of the world. He completed the MA in Theories of Urban Practice in May 2017.
Francisco writes: “I am currently working around urban issues from very different angles; I maintain a job that gives me an insight into how private development works in the city while at the same time I am involved in a media project that demands continuous and up to date research on issues that range from affordable housing to transportation to public space. I hope that the three different projects I am working on start feeding off each other and I want to keep pushing myself to have a real and longstanding influence in the people that I collaborate and work with daily.”
