Raoul Rickenbergis an Assistant Professor in the School of Design Strategies at Parsons The New School for Design. His research concerns organizational behavior, communication technology, and the development of complex socio-technical systems. Situated at the intersection of analytical and generative practice, this work has been presented at a wide variety of academic conferences and appears in scientific as well as design-oriented publications. It also informs the courses that Raoul has developed, which concern processes by which people shape and adapt to their environments, as well as the work of MAPstudios, a firm that he founded in order to apply this knowledge to the design of digital interfaces. Raoul holds a PhD in Communication and an MA in Media Studies, both from Stanford University, as well as a BFA in Sculpture from the Rhode Island School of Design.
