The Presentation of co-design work between students in Parsons School of Design Strategies Design Development course and New York City public school students participating in the EATS initiative. EATS is a not-for-profit organization that is dedicated to establishing community farms in neighborhoods throughout New York City, often in conjunction with a public school. The teams worked together to creatively envision and employ design-based strategies to further the EATS Initiative and enhance its mission by developing a new marketplace based on produce that is grown, harvested and sold by members of the community. The marketplace that was created serves multiple purposes; as a place for commerce and community gatherings, and a forum that encourages healthier behaviors affecting food choices.
