In April of 2009 Todd Lambrix and his Foundation Two Dimensional Integrated Studio class worked in conjunction with Forbidden Planet on a Graphic Novel project. This was a 5 week project for a freshman class at Parsons. These students had never created a graphic novel or comic before. Lambrix invited Jeff Ayers from Forbidden Planet to collaborate and function as guest critic. Ayers provided reading lists and support for the project and agreed to pick two graphic novels to be featured and sold at Forbidden Planet.
Ayers visited both sections of 2D and critiqued the works for the entire class. In the end, 5 finalists were picked from which the winner was decided.
